The Story
It was introduced on February 18, 1998 and referred to the House Municipal and County Government committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 4, 1998. On March 12, 1998 the House adopted “Suspend Rules change rept date to 05/13/1998”, on a motion by Rep. Wheeler & Burling. The majority of the committee recommended that the House kill it by a vote of 15–1, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On April 9, 1998 the House voted to kill it.
