The Story

It was introduced on January 7, 1998 and referred to the House Election Law committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 22, 1998. The committee held work sessions on February 3, 1998 and February 10, 1998. The majority recommended that the House kill it, and the minority recommended that the House pass it, by a vote of 10–5. On February 18, 1998 the House voted to kill it on a voice vote.
