The Story
It was introduced on January 9, 1997 and referred to the Senate Public Institutions, Health and Human Services committee. The committee voted 6–2 to recommend that the Senate pass it. On March 6, 1997 the Senate voted to pass it, then referred it on to the Senate Finance committee. The committee voted unanimously, 5–0, to recommend that the Senate kill it. On March 27, 1997 the Senate voted to kill it on a voice vote.
