The Story
It was introduced on January 9, 1997 and referred to the Senate Wildlife and Recreation committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 23, 1997. The majority recommended that the Senate send it back to committee, and the minority recommended that the Senate kill it, by a vote of 4–3. The majority of the committee recommended that the Senate send it back to committee. On February 6, 1997 the Senate voted to kill it on a voice vote.
