The Story

It was introduced on January 8, 1997 and referred to the Senate Wildlife and Recreation committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 30, 1997. The majority recommended that the Senate pass it with changes, and the minority recommended that the Senate kill it, by a vote of 4–3. On February 20, 1997 the Senate rejected a motion to pass it on a voice vote. On February 20, 1997 the Senate voted to kill it on a voice vote.
