The Story

It was introduced on January 9, 1997 and referred to the House Commerce committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 20, 1997. The committee held work sessions on February 26, 1997 and March 4, 1997. The majority of the committee recommended that the House kill it by a vote of 13–1, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On March 18, 1997 the House voted to kill it.
