The Story

The committee voted unanimously, 6–0, to recommend that the Senate pass it with changes. On February 21, 1996 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the House on March 5, 1996 and was referred to the House Commerce, Small Business, Consumer Affairs and Economic Development committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 26, 1996. The committee held a work session on April 3, 1996. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it with changes by a vote of 18–1, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On April 17, 1996 the House voted to pass it with changes. On April 30, 1996 the Senate voted to agree to the other chamber's changes on a voice vote. An enrolled bill amendment (5967) was adopted on a voice vote on May 16, 1996. These correct technical errors found after passage.
