The Story

It was introduced on January 5, 1995 and referred to the Senate Capital Budget committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 8, 1995. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes. On March 28, 1995 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the House on March 30, 1995 and was referred to the House Public Works and Highways committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 6, 1995. The committee met in executive session on April 13, 1995 to vote on its recommendation. The majority of the committee recommended that the House send it back to committee unanimously, 15–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On April 25, 1995 the bill was referred to the Public Works and Highways committee. The committee held a work session on October 4, 1995. The majority of the committee recommended that the House kill it by a vote of 13–5, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On January 3, 1996 the House voted to kill it.
