The Story

It was introduced on February 21, 1996 and referred to the House Finance committee. On March 7, 1996 the House adopted “Suspend Rules for finance hearing”, on a motion by Rep. C Brown. The committee held a public hearing on March 11, 1996. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it with changes unanimously, 22–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On March 19, 1996 the House voted to adopt it. The committee held work sessions on June 24, 1997, August 26, 1997, September 3, 1997, September 18, 1997, October 1, 1997, October 16, 1997 and October 29, 1997.
