The Story

It was introduced on January 3, 1996 and referred to the House State-Federal Relations committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 26, 1996. The majority recommended that the House kill it, and the minority recommended that the House pass it, by a vote of 8–3. On February 21, 1996 the House adopted “Special Order to 03/05/1996”. On March 5, 1996 the House adopted “Special Order to 03/06/1996” on a voice vote. On March 6, 1996 the House voted to kill it on a roll call 207–105.
