The Story

It was introduced on January 5, 1995 and referred to the House State-Federal Relations committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 27, 1995. On March 16, 1995 the bill was referred to the State-Federal Relations committee. The majority recommended that the House study it after the session ends, and the minority recommended that the House kill it, by a vote of 10–1. On January 11, 1996 the House voted to study it after the session ends on a voice vote. The committee reported back on its interim study of the bill: “Not Recommended for Future Legislation”, by a vote of 7 to 2.
