The Story

It was introduced on January 4, 1995 and referred to the House Municipal and County Government committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 19, 1995. The majority of the committee recommended that the House send it back to committee unanimously, 15–0. On February 9, 1995 the bill was referred to the Municipal and County Government committee. The committee held work sessions on March 30, 1995, April 13, 1995, May 3, 1995, September 19, 1995, September 26, 1995 and October 10, 1995. The majority of the committee recommended that the House study it after the session ends by a vote of 11–5. On January 11, 1996 the House voted to study it after the session ends on a voice vote. The committee held work sessions on May 7, 1996, May 21, 1996, June 11, 1996 and September 18, 1996. The committee reported back on its interim study of the bill: “Recommended for Future Legislation”.
