The Story

It was introduced on January 3, 1996 and referred to the House Finance committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 23, 1996. The majority of the committee recommended that the House kill it by a vote of 17–4. On January 31, 1996 the House voted to lay it on the table on a voice vote. On June 13, 1996 the House voted to kill it and bar the subject for the rest of the term on a voice vote.
