The Story
It was introduced on January 3, 1996 and referred to the House Transportation committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 7, 1996. The majority of the committee recommended that the House study it after the session ends unanimously, 14–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On February 21, 1996 the House voted to study it after the session ends. The committee held a work session on August 19, 1996. The committee reported back on its interim study of the bill: “Recommended for Future Legislation”, by a vote of 12 to 0.
