HB 1306 (1996)

exempting certain health clinics under the licensure law.

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 1995-1996
  • House committee: Health, Human Services and Elderly Affairs
  • Senate committee: Insurance
  • Subject: Public and Mental Health
  • Chapter law: 146

The Story

It was introduced on January 3, 1996 and referred to the House Health, Human Services and Elderly Affairs committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 17, 1996. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it with changes unanimously, 14–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On January 31, 1996 the House voted to pass it with changes. It crossed to the Senate on February 8, 1996 and was referred to the Senate Executive Departments and Administration committee. The Senate withdrew that referral and sent the bill to the Insurance committee instead. The committee held a public hearing on April 10, 1996. The committee voted unanimously, 6–0, to recommend that the Senate pass it with changes. On April 11, 1996 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. On May 1, 1996 the House voted to agree to the other chamber's changes on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on May 16, 1996 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on May 24, 1996, making it Chapter 146 of the session laws. It took effect on July 23, 1996.
