The Story

It was introduced on January 5, 1995 and referred to the Senate Insurance committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 22, 1995. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes. On March 15, 1995 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the House on March 16, 1995 and was referred to the House Executive Departments and Administration committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 12, 1995. The committee held a work session on April 19, 1995. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it with changes by a vote of 13–3. On May 2, 1995 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote, then referred it on to the House Finance committee. On May 2, 1995 the House adopted “Suspend Rules for fin hearing”, on a motion by Rep. Scanlan. The committee held a public hearing on May 8, 1995. The majority of the committee recommended that the House kill it by a vote of 14–7. On May 16, 1995 the House voted to kill it on a voice vote.
