The Story
It was introduced on January 5, 1995 and referred to the House Resources, Recreation and Development committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 17, 1995. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it with changes unanimously, 13–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On February 15, 1995 the House voted to pass it with changes. It crossed to the Senate on February 21, 1995 and was referred to the Senate Environment committee. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On March 28, 1995 the Senate voted to adopt it on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on April 4, 1995 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on April 12, 1995, making it Chapter 19 of the session laws.
