The Story
It was introduced on January 5, 1995 and referred to the House Finance committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 25, 1995. The majority of the committee recommended that the House kill it by a vote of 21–1, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The bill was taken off the consent calendar on February 15, 1995. On February 15, 1995 the House adopted “Special Order to 02/16/1995” on a voice vote. On February 16, 1995 the House voted to kill it on a voice vote.
