The Story
It was introduced on January 5, 1995 and referred to the House Municipal and County Government committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 31, 1995. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it by a vote of 13–1. On February 9, 1995 the House adopted “Recommit” on a voice vote. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it with changes by a vote of 17–1, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The bill was taken off the consent calendar on March 15, 1995. On March 15, 1995 the House adopted “Special Order to 03/16/1995” on a voice vote. On March 16, 1995 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on March 21, 1995 and was referred to the Senate Ways and Means committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 11, 1995. The committee recommended that the Senate kill it. On April 20, 1995 the Senate voted to kill it on a voice vote.
