The Story

It was introduced on January 5, 1995 and referred to the House Science, Technology and Energy committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 25, 1995. The committee held work sessions on February 9, 1995 and February 14, 1995. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it with changes by a vote of 14–1. On March 2, 1995 the House adopted “Special Order to 03/09/1995 10:00” on a voice vote. On March 9, 1995 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on March 15, 1995 and was referred to the Senate Transportation committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 5, 1995. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On April 6, 1995 the Senate voted to pass it, then referred it on to the Senate Finance committee. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On May 4, 1995 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on May 9, 1995 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on May 16, 1995, making it Chapter 89 of the session laws. It took effect on May 16, 1995.
