The Story

It was introduced on January 5, 1995 and referred to the House Legislative Administration committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 25, 1995. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it with changes unanimously, 11–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On February 2, 1995 the House voted to pass it with changes. It crossed to the Senate on February 7, 1995 and was referred to the Senate Executive Departments and Administration committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 16, 1995. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On March 21, 1995 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on March 30, 1995 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on April 12, 1995, making it Chapter 10 of the session laws. It took effect on April 12, 1995.
