The Story

It was introduced on January 5, 1994 and referred to the Senate Environment committee. The Senate withdrew that referral and sent the bill to the Ways and Means committee instead. It crossed to the House on March 17, 1994 and was referred to the House Ways and Means committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 30, 1994. The committee held a work session on April 27, 1994. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it unanimously, 18–0. On May 11, 1994 the House voted to pass it on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on May 24, 1994 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on June 2, 1994, making it Chapter 263 of the session laws. It took effect on June 2, 1994.
