SB 745-FN (1994)

relative to the maintenance of vegetation obstructing advertising devices.

  • Status: Killed
  • Term: 1993-1994
  • House committee: Public Works
  • Senate committee: Transportation
  • Subject: Transportation and Highways

The Story

It was introduced on January 5, 1994 and referred to the Senate Environment committee. The Senate withdrew that referral and sent the bill to the Transportation committee instead. The committee held a public hearing on February 9, 1994. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes. On February 10, 1994 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the House on February 16, 1994 and was referred to the House Public Works committee. The committee held public hearings on March 3, 1994, March 15, 1994, March 16, 1994 and March 17, 1994. The committee held work sessions on March 31, 1994, April 5, 1994 and April 13, 1994. The majority recommended that the House kill it, and the minority recommended that the House pass it with changes, by a vote of 9–5. On April 21, 1994 the House voted to kill it on a voice vote. On April 21, 1994 the House failed “Reconsider” on a voice vote, on a motion by Rep. Dickinson.
