The Story

It was introduced on January 5, 1994 and referred to the Senate Wildlife and Recreation committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 13, 1994. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes. On March 10, 1994 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the House on March 17, 1994 and was referred to the House Wildlife and Marine Resources committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 31, 1994. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it with changes unanimously, 10–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On April 14, 1994 the House voted to pass it with changes. On April 26, 1994 the Senate voted to reject the other chamber's changes on a voice vote. On May 5, 1994 the House adopted “Accede to Request for Committee of Conference” on a voice vote. A committee of conference met on May 18, 1994 to try to settle the differences between the two chambers' versions of the bill. On May 26, 1994 the House adopted “Conference Committee Report” on a voice vote. On May 26, 1994 the Senate adopted “Conference Committee Report” on a voice vote.
