The Story
It was introduced on January 5, 1994 and referred to the Senate Wildlife and Recreation committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 13, 1994. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes. On January 20, 1994 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the House on February 3, 1994 and was referred to the House Wildlife and Marine Resources committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 2, 1994. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it unanimously, 14–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The bill was taken off the consent calendar on March 31, 1994. On March 31, 1994 the House adopted “Recommit” on a voice vote. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it unanimously, 10–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On May 5, 1994 the House voted to pass it. An enrolled bill amendment () was adopted on a voice vote on May 26, 1994. These correct technical errors found after passage. The bill was enrolled on May 26, 1994 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (6659) was adopted on a voice vote to correct technical errors found after passage. The governor signed it on June 8, 1994, making it Chapter 332 of the session laws. It took effect on August 7, 1994.
