The Story
It was introduced on January 5, 1994 and referred to the Senate Economic Development committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 11, 1994. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes. On March 10, 1994 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the House on March 17, 1994 and was referred to the House Municipal and County Government committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 29, 1994. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it with changes unanimously, 13–0. On April 19, 1994 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. On May 17, 1994 the Senate voted to agree to the other chamber's changes on a voice vote. An enrolled bill amendment () was adopted on a voice vote on May 26, 1994. These correct technical errors found after passage. The bill was enrolled on May 26, 1994 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (6650) was adopted on a voice vote to correct technical errors found after passage. The governor signed it on June 8, 1994, making it Chapter 331 of the session laws. It took effect on August 7, 1994.
