The Story

It was introduced on January 7, 1993 and referred to the Senate Ways and Means committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 9, 1993. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes. On April 15, 1993 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the House on April 15, 1993 and was referred to the House Regulated Revenues committee. The committee held public hearings on April 22, 1993 and April 29, 1993. The majority recommended that the House send it back to committee, and the minority recommended that the House kill it, by a vote of 10–7. On May 4, 1993 the bill was referred to the Regulated Revenues committee. The committee held work sessions on September 1, 1993, September 15, 1993, September 23, 1993, October 6, 1993 and October 12, 1993. The committee held a public hearing on October 20, 1993. The majority of the committee recommended that the House kill it by a vote of 9–5. On January 5, 1994 the House voted to kill it on a voice vote.
