The Story

The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it with changes by a vote of 9–7. On March 10, 1993 the House voted to pass it with changes on a division vote 216–127. It crossed to the Senate on March 11, 1993 and was referred to the Senate Banks committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 31, 1993. The committee held a work session on April 13, 1993. The committee recommended that the Senate make no recommendation. On May 18, 1993 the Senate voted to lay it on the table on a voice vote. On May 19, 1993 the Senate adopted “Take from Table” on a voice vote. The committee held a work session on October 29, 1993. The majority recommended that the Senate pass it with changes, and the minority recommended that the Senate kill it. On February 10, 1994 the Senate voted to kill it on a voice vote.
