  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 1993-1994
  • House committee: Health, Human Services and Elderly Affairs
  • Senate committee: Environment
  • Subject: Miscellaneous
  • Chapter law: 284

The Story

It was introduced on January 5, 1994 and referred to the House Health, Human Services and Elderly Affairs committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 20, 1994. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it with changes unanimously, 17–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On February 15, 1994 the House voted to pass it with changes. It crossed to the Senate on March 10, 1994 and was referred to the Senate Environment committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 7, 1994. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On April 14, 1994 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote. An enrolled bill amendment (6373) was adopted on a voice vote on May 11, 1994. These correct technical errors found after passage. The bill was enrolled on May 26, 1994 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (6373) was adopted on a voice vote to correct technical errors found after passage. The governor signed it on June 6, 1994, making it Chapter 284 of the session laws. It took effect on June 6, 1994.
