The Story

It was introduced on January 5, 1994 and referred to the House Science, Technology and Energy committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 12, 1994. The committee held work sessions on January 25, 1994, February 1, 1994 and February 10, 1994. The majority recommended that the House pass it with changes, and the minority recommended that the House study it after the session ends, by a vote of 7–3. On February 16, 1994 the House adopted “Suspend Rules for report”, on a motion by Rep. A Torr & Trombly. On February 16, 1994 the House voted to study it after the session ends on a voice vote. The committee held work sessions on May 18, 1994, June 1, 1994 and June 15, 1994. The committee met in executive session on October 11, 1994 to vote on its recommendation. The committee reported back on its interim study of the bill: “Not Recommended for Future Legislation”, by a vote of 9 to 0.
