HB 1502-FN (1994)

removing certain reporting requirements for persons who wish to sell venison.

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 1993-1994
  • House committee: Wildlife and Marine Resources
  • Senate committee: Wildlife and Recreation
  • Subject: Fish & Game
  • Chapter law: 153

The Story

It was introduced on January 5, 1994 and referred to the House Environment and Agriculture committee. The House withdrew that referral and sent the bill to the Wildlife and Marine Resources committee instead. The committee held a public hearing on January 27, 1994. The committee held a work session on February 8, 1994. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it with changes by a vote of 10–1, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On February 15, 1994 the House voted to pass it with changes. It crossed to the Senate on March 10, 1994 and was referred to the Senate Wildlife and Recreation committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 28, 1994. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On May 3, 1994 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote. On May 3, 1994 the Senate adopted “Suspend Rules for 3rd reading”, on a motion by Sen. Delahunty. The bill was enrolled on May 12, 1994 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on May 23, 1994, making it Chapter 153 of the session laws. It took effect on January 1, 1995.
