The Story
It was introduced on January 5, 1994 and referred to the House Municipal and County Government committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 1, 1994. The majority of the committee recommended that the House study it after the session ends by a vote of 12–5. On March 17, 1994 the House voted to study it after the session ends on a voice vote. The committee held work sessions on June 7, 1994, June 21, 1994, September 27, 1994 and October 11, 1994. The committee met in executive session on October 19, 1994 to vote on its recommendation. The committee reported back on its interim study of the bill: “Recommended for Future Legislation”, by a vote of 9 to 7.
