The Story
It was introduced on January 5, 1994 and referred to the House Children, Youth and Juvenile Justice committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 20, 1994. The committee held work sessions on February 17, 1994 and March 3, 1994. The majority of the committee recommended that the House study it after the session ends unanimously, 14–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On March 15, 1994 the House voted to study it after the session ends. The committee held work sessions on May 18, 1994 and October 19, 1994. The committee met in executive session on October 19, 1994 to vote on its recommendation. The committee reported back on its interim study of the bill: “Not Recommended for Future Legislation”, by a vote of 12 to 0.
