The Story
It was introduced on January 5, 1994 and referred to the House Wildlife and Marine Resources committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 24, 1994. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it with changes unanimously, 12–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On March 15, 1994 the House voted to pass it with changes. It crossed to the Senate on March 24, 1994 and was referred to the Senate Wildlife and Recreation committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 7, 1994. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes. On May 3, 1994 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. On May 3, 1994 the Senate adopted “Suspend Rules for 3rd reading”, on a motion by Sen. Delahunty. On May 5, 1994 the House voted to agree to the other chamber's changes on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on May 12, 1994 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on May 23, 1994, making it Chapter 151 of the session laws. It took effect on May 23, 1994.
