The Story
It was introduced on January 5, 1994 and referred to the House Science, Technology and Energy committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 11, 1994. The committee held a work session on January 20, 1994. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it with changes unanimously, 8–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On February 8, 1994 the House voted to pass it with changes. It crossed to the Senate on February 10, 1994 and was referred to the Senate Executive Departments and Administration committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 24, 1994. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes. On April 14, 1994 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. On April 19, 1994 the House voted to agree to the other chamber's changes on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on April 28, 1994 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on May 9, 1994, making it Chapter 95 of the session laws. It took effect on May 9, 1994.
