relative to the administration of small estates.
- Status: Signed into law
- Term: 1993-1994
- House committee: Judiciary
- Senate committee: Judiciary
- Subject: Miscellaneous
- Chapter law: 136
The Story
It was introduced on January 5, 1994 and referred to the House Judiciary committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 7, 1994. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it with changes unanimously, 17–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On February 3, 1994 the House voted to pass it with changes. It crossed to the Senate on February 10, 1994 and was referred to the Senate Banks committee. The Senate withdrew that referral and sent the bill to the Judiciary committee instead. The committee held a public hearing on March 23, 1994. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On April 14, 1994 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. On April 28, 1994 the House voted to agree to the other chamber's changes on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on May 10, 1994 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on May 23, 1994, making it Chapter 136 of the session laws. It took effect on January 1, 1995.
