The Story
It was introduced on January 5, 1994 and referred to the House Education committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 12, 1994. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it with changes by a vote of 13–2. On February 8, 1994 the House voted to pass it on a roll call 236–103, then referred it on to the House Appropriations committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 16, 1994. The majority of the committee recommended that the House kill it unanimously, 17–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On March 15, 1994 the House voted to kill it.
