The Story

It was introduced on February 18, 1993 and referred to the Senate Economic Development committee. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes. On March 4, 1993 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the House on March 17, 1993 and was referred to the House Economic Development committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 31, 1993. The committee held a work session on April 7, 1993. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it with changes unanimously, 13–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On April 22, 1993 the House voted to pass it with changes. On May 11, 1993 the Senate voted to agree to the other chamber's changes on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on June 1, 1993 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on June 9, 1993, making it Chapter 228 of the session laws. It took effect on June 9, 1993.
