The Story

It was introduced on January 7, 1993 and referred to the Senate Transportation committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 10, 1993. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes. On February 18, 1993 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a division vote, then referred it on to the Senate Fin committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 16, 1993. The committee recommended that the Senate make no recommendation. On April 15, 1993 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the House on April 15, 1993 and was referred to the House Public Works committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 27, 1993. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it with changes unanimously, 15–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On May 4, 1993 the House voted to pass it with changes. On May 25, 1993 the Senate voted to agree to the other chamber's changes on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on June 3, 1993 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on June 9, 1993, making it Chapter 222 of the session laws. It took effect on June 9, 1993.
