The Story

It was introduced on January 7, 1993 and referred to the Senate Education committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 2, 1993. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes. On February 17, 1993 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a division vote, then referred it on to the Senate Fin committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 16, 1993. The committee recommended that the Senate make no recommendation. On April 15, 1993 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the House on April 15, 1993 and was referred to the House Appropriations committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 27, 1993. The majority of the committee recommended that the House kill it by a vote of 14–2. On May 11, 1993 the House voted to kill it on a voice vote.
