- Status: Signed into law
- Term: 1993-1994
- House committee: Labor, Industrial and Rehabilitative Services
- Senate committee: Insurance

- Chapter law: 260
The Story
It was introduced on January 7, 1993 and referred to the Senate Insurance committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 28, 1993. The committee recommended that the Senate kill it. On February 18, 1993 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the House on March 10, 1993 and was referred to the House Labor, Industrial and Rehabilitative Services committee. The committee held public hearings on March 30, 1993 and April 6, 1993. The committee held work sessions on April 14, 1993 and April 21, 1993. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it with changes by a vote of 11–2, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On May 4, 1993 the House voted to pass it with changes. On May 25, 1993 the Senate voted to agree to the other chamber's changes on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on June 9, 1993 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on June 15, 1993, making it Chapter 260 of the session laws. It took effect on January 1, 1994.
