The Story

It was introduced on January 7, 1993 and referred to the House Public Works committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 16, 1993. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it with changes unanimously, 20–0. On March 10, 1993 the House adopted “Special Order to 03/11/1993”. On March 11, 1993 the House adopted “Special Order to 03/16/1993”. On March 16, 1993 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on March 24, 1993 and was referred to the Senate Capital Budget committee. The committee held public hearings on April 6, 1993 and May 18, 1993. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes. On May 19, 1993 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. On May 25, 1993 the House voted to agree to the other chamber's changes on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on June 9, 1993 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on June 21, 1993, making it Chapter 284 of the session laws. It took effect on July 1, 1993.
