The Story

It was introduced on January 6, 1993 and referred to the House Resources, Recreation and Development committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 20, 1993. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it with changes unanimously, 14–0. On February 18, 1993 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on March 4, 1993 and was referred to the Senate Executive Departments and Administration committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 18, 1993. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes. On March 24, 1993 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. On March 25, 1993 the House voted to agree to the other chamber's changes on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on April 8, 1993 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on April 16, 1993, making it Chapter 53 of the session laws. It took effect on June 15, 1993.
