The Story
It was introduced on January 6, 1993 and referred to the House Executive Departments and Administration committee. The committee held public hearings on February 4, 1993 and March 3, 1993. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it with changes unanimously, 10–0. On March 10, 1993 the House adopted “Special Order to 03/11/1993”. On March 11, 1993 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote, then referred it on to the House Appropriations committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 23, 1993. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it by a vote of 14–2, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On April 8, 1993 the House voted to pass it. It crossed to the Senate on April 9, 1993 and was referred to the Senate Insurance committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 29, 1993. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On May 18, 1993 the Senate voted to pass it on a division vote, then referred it on to the Senate Fin committee. The committee recommended that the Senate kill it. On May 19, 1993 the Senate voted to kill it on a voice vote.
