The Story
It was introduced on January 6, 1993 and referred to the House Wildlife and Marine Resources committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 2, 1993. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it unanimously, 15–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On February 18, 1993 the House voted to pass it. It crossed to the Senate on March 4, 1993 and was referred to the Senate Wildlife and Recreation committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 18, 1993. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes. On March 25, 1993 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. On April 1, 1993 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. On April 22, 1993 the House voted to agree to the other chamber's changes on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on April 29, 1993 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on April 29, 1993, making it Chapter 99 of the session laws. It took effect on April 29, 1993.
