The Story
It was introduced on January 6, 1993 and referred to the House Wildlife and Marine Resources committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 21, 1993. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it with changes unanimously, 12–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On March 3, 1993 the House voted to pass it with changes. It crossed to the Senate on March 11, 1993 and was referred to the Senate Wildlife and Recreation committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 25, 1993. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes. On April 8, 1993 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. On May 18, 1993 the House voted to agree to the other chamber's changes on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on June 9, 1993 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on June 15, 1993, making it Chapter 236 of the session laws. It took effect on January 1, 1994.
