The Story

It was introduced on January 6, 1993 and referred to the House Municipal and County Government committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 13, 1993. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it with changes unanimously, 16–0. On January 27, 1993 the House voted to pass it with changes. It crossed to the Senate and was referred to the Senate Executive Departments and Administration committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 11, 1993. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On February 16, 1993 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote. An enrolled bill amendment () was adopted on a voice vote on February 18, 1993. These correct technical errors found after passage. The bill was enrolled on March 4, 1993 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (1618) was adopted on a voice vote to correct technical errors found after passage. The governor signed it on March 9, 1993, making it Chapter 2 of the session laws. It took effect on March 9, 1993.
