The Story

It was introduced on February 18, 1993 and referred to the House Appropriations committee. The committee held public hearings on March 16, 1993 and March 17, 1993. The committee held a work session on March 24, 1993. On April 8, 1993 the House adopted “Suspend Rules for report”, on a motion by Rep. C Brown. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it with changes by a vote of 19–3. On April 15, 1993 the House voted to pass it with changes on a roll call 254–87. It crossed to the Senate on April 20, 1993 and was referred to the Senate Finance Executive Committee. The committee held public hearings on April 29, 1993 and May 6, 1993. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes. On May 25, 1993 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. On May 25, 1993 the House voted to reject the other chamber's changes on a voice vote. On May 25, 1993 the Senate adopted “Accede to Request for Committee of Conference” on a voice vote. A committee of conference met on June 1, 1993 to try to settle the differences between the two chambers' versions of the bill. On July 1, 1993 the Senate adopted “Conference Committee Report” on a roll call 21–0. On July 1, 1993 the House adopted “Suspend Rules for report”, on a motion by Rep. Gross & Trombly. On July 1, 1993 the House adopted “Conference Committee Report” on a roll call 324–25. An enrolled bill amendment (3276) was adopted on a voice vote on July 1, 1993.
