The Story

It was introduced on January 8, 1992 and referred to the House Fish and Game committee. The committee held public hearings on February 4, 1992 and February 25, 1992. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it with changes unanimously, 16–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On March 3, 1992 the House voted to pass it with changes. It crossed to the Senate on March 4, 1992 and was referred to the Senate Wildlife and Recreation committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 19, 1992. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes. On April 16, 1992 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. On April 22, 1992 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. On April 23, 1992 the House voted to agree to the other chamber's changes. The bill was enrolled on May 6, 1992 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on May 12, 1992, making it Chapter 200 of the session laws. It took effect on May 12, 1992.
