HB 1339 (1992)
requiring the division of human services to report certain obligors to consumer reporting agencies.
- Status: Signed into law
- Term: 1991-1992
- House committee: Children, Youth and Juvenile Justice
- Senate committee: Public Institutions, Health and Human Services
- Subject: Children
- Chapter law: 119
The Story
It was introduced on January 8, 1992 and referred to the House Commerce, Small Business and Consumer Affairs committee. The House withdrew that referral and sent the bill to the Children, Youth and Juvenile Justice committee instead. The committee held a public hearing on January 21, 1992. The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it with changes unanimously, 14–0, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On February 11, 1992 the House voted to pass it with changes. It crossed to the Senate on February 19, 1992 and was referred to the Senate Public Institutions, Health and Human Services committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 18, 1992. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes. On April 9, 1992 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. On April 16, 1992 the House voted to agree to the other chamber's changes on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on April 23, 1992 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on May 1, 1992, making it Chapter 119 of the session laws. It took effect on January 1, 1993.
